Technical Specifications & Engineering

  • Engine Options (365 cu in / 6.0L V8):

    • Standard Engine: Overhead-valve 365 CID V8 producing 300 hp @ 4,800 RPM and 400 lb-ft torque @ 2,800 RPM (single 4-barrel Carter or Rochester carburetor).

    • Eldorado Engine: Dual 4-barrel carburetor setup generating 325 hp @ 4,800 RPM and 400 lb-ft torque @ 3,300 RPM.

  • Transmission: 4-speed Controlled Coupling Hydra-Matic automatic transmission standard across all models.

  • Chassis & Frame: Introduction of the tubular X-frame without side rails, allowing for a lower ride height and sleeker body lines while increasing structural rigidity.

    • Front & Rear Trim: Rubber-tipped bumper guards ("Dagmars"), integrated lower bumper parking lamps, and tailfins with crest medallions.

  • Luxury Features & Options:

    • Standard/Optional Amenities: Power steering, power brakes, power windows, 6-way power seats, automatic starter, and "Autronic-Eye" automatic headlight dimmer.
